American Girl Fun Finds

In Savers I found coconut for $2! I found out that this one was made in 2000 because it is really heavy. It weighs a few pounds. The more recent versions of coconut are a lot lighter.

Restringing Kirsten

Kirsten's limbs were in really bad shape.

They would flop down when you would hold her up.

First I untied her neck strings.

Then I took her head off.

Now I took the stuffing out.

Take the white cups out of the arms and legs b cutting the elastic

now put the elastic cords through one of the cups.

Now you would put the cups back in the doll and on the end, you would crimp it with metal so it wouldn't fall out.

make sure to tie the ends for extra support.

all you have to do is re-stuff her and put her head back on.
she is done!

her legs are tight and are much better than before

now Kirsten is done!

Her limbs don't fall over when I hold her up!

American Girl Fun Find

I was very excited to find Kirsten in Savers!

She was only $19.99, but with a coupon for 30% off, the total came to $14!

She was in very bad shape. It is hard to see, but she had pink and red around her eyes and mouth. Also her left eye had very bad chip marks.

Her legs were very loose and dirty, you can see they were coming out of the body!

here is what her face looks like with her eyes open, you can see the pink around the eyes better here.

Her hair was very knotted and messy.

This shows you how loose her limbs are because when I hold her up, her arms and legs fall down.

here is a side view.

She also had very bad nail polish on her hands and toes.

this is another front view.

and a back view.

This is what Kirsten looks like when she was finished!

I cleaned up her face very well. I got all the marks and dirt off.
I also repainted her eyelid the same color.

Her limbs are very tight now.

I did her hair in two braids

here is a back view.

I got all the nail polish off her fingers and toes, and cleaned all her limbs.

I dressed her in this outfit.

My grandma made the beautiful dress, then I got her pleasant company apron at a church garage sale for 10 cents.
I put her in some flower shoes that match her outfit.

This picture shows how tight her limbs are and they won't fall. I am very happy I found her and I had fun fixing her up.
